Programs built around howchildren actually grow

infants to school-age children

One philosophy, every room

All children want to learn. Every child is unique and learns differently. Children must learn to treat each other kindly and understand the differences between one another. Our staff is dedicated to helping children realize their potential and foster their academic success. Our carefully prepared environment is based on observations of the individual child’s needs and ability.

Every program, honestly described

Infant

The care of infants is focused on their individual needs. The stimulation of all their senses resulting in a happy mindful baby is our daily goal. For children ages 3 – 12 months.

Toddler

Toddlers are offered a variety of opportunities to explore their world through play. Gross and fine motor dexterity is developed and social skills are refined through structured and unstructured activities. Their days are filled with music, art, dance, story time and friends. For children ages 16–36 months.

Preschool

Exercises abound that teach readiness skills like phonemic awareness, letter and sound recognition, basic math concepts and hands-on science exploration. Mirroring the PA Early Learning Standards, the Montessori Method focuses on reading, early writing and basic math. Science, world cultures, art, music and physical education round out the curriculum. For children ages 3 to 6 years old.

School Age

School age children are given a quiet environment for homework and projects with supervised access to computers and tutoring assistance as needed. Also available to elementary students are crafts, games, snacks, physical activities and relaxation. For children ages 6 and 10 years old.

PHLpreK

Our PHLpreK Program for School Year 2026-2027 has no income or employment requirements. For children turned 3 or 4 years old by September 1, 2026.

What a morning here looks like

Children arrive to calm, prepared classrooms and choose real work from open shelves — pouring, sorting, letters, numbers, art. A guide observes each child and steps in exactly when a skill is ready to grow. The long, unhurried work period is the heart of the method: concentration is built, not demanded.

The practical details

QLMS is a year-round program consisting of ten months of Montessori instruction supplemented by a 2 month summer recreational program.
